Rules for the 2006 Season
Rules frozen for two years.
Cars must be stock in every aspect with the following exceptions.
When
the word “stock” is used it means as it came from the factory
for the particular year and model in question. This also includes replacement
parts by part number. Any question on parts need to be directed to the
board of directors.
Everything must remain stock except the following.
Only Canadian and American cars with a 108 inch wheel base or longer. No truck chassis and no convertibles!
Camaros and Firebirds are allowed, newer style steel
bodies 1995 or older (inc. truck bodies) may be used on older style frames.
(Example: you can put an 84 Monte Carlo body on a 69 Chevelle frame
or vice versa). The installation must be done safely and neatly. The
wheelbase must remain original to the frame.
Body and Roll Cages
Aftermarket nose pieces and tail pieces may be used.
Metal bodies only. Replacement panels must be 20 Gauge steel.
Tubing should be 1.5” diameter 1.25 wall, or 1.75" diameter
.095 wall.
All cages will be teched. Cage must be securely welded to the frame and/or
floor of car. All bars within the driver’s reach must be padded.
No altering of frame or frame rails. Damage or corrosion problems (refer
to BOD).
Frame horns may be trimmed. Maximum of 6 inches.
Bumpers must be capped to body and be stock appearing. Bumpers may be
gutted.
Engine hood springs may be replaced with two hood pins with 2" flat
washers.
Trunks and doors may be gutted.
Rear spoiler allowed (Max height 6”), Front Air dams allowed must
be min 5" from the ground.
Full stock firewall and floor pan required to rear of driver. Full fire
shields to completely separate the driver from trunk and engine compartment.
Rear firewall may be replaced with a min of 20 gauge sheet metal.
Unibody cars allowed at BOD discretion. (Please consult before building
this style of car as there will be modifications in order to race).
Uni-bodies must join front and rear straight (no offsets).
Body mounts may be removed. Steel mounts allowed.
Steering and Suspension
All suspension must remain stock except the following
Aftermarket steering columns and removable steering wheels allowed.
Frame to remain stock. No modifications what so ever any exceptions to
be passed by BOD.
No front or rear clips allowed.
Minimum weight 3300 lbs with driver (all day)
Maximum 53%left side weight (all day)
Maximum 46% Rear weight (all day).
All weights, heights and percentages must be legal all day with driver
in car (No topping up on fuel).
Any weight added must be above and between bottom frame rails.
Weight must be securely bolted, painted white and have car number painted
on each side.
Loss of weights will result in a fine.
All brakes must be in good working order.
Brake cooling ducts allowed.
Pedals must remain in stock location. Aftermarket throttle allowed.
One aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve for brakes allowed. (Front
to rear only).
Aftermarket upper control arm cross shaft allowed.
Bolts may be changed for camber adjustment on upper control arm.
Drivers side upper control arm mounting may be moved for camber purposes
only
Polyurethane bushings allowed.
Sway bar adjustment allowed. Must retain stock mounting points
Redi-rod may be used instead of link for adjustment on front sway bar.
Frame must have minimum ride height of 5" from ground. (Will be
teched at random).
Four weight jacks allowed.
Springs may be changed must fit stock spring pocket. Coil spring buckets
allowed.
Racing shocks allowed. Shocks must fit in stock location (Alternate
mounting point allowed for front shocks to make room for weight jacks.
No aluminum or adjustable shocks, no shocks to be mounted up-side down.
Aftermarket wheel studs and large OEM spindles allowed.
No three link or panhard bars allowed.
Stock working rear end allowed, including posi tracks, welded rear ends
and mini spools.
Leaf sprung rear ends must remain in stock location and stock angle,
no adjustment parts (sliders) except shackles for ride height adjusting
or rear weight jacks at rear of spring.
Boxing of 4 link suspension allowed.
Seats and Seatbelts
All cars must have sturdy headrest. Any cars not equipped with headrest
will not race until headrest is installed.
All cars will be equipped with five point safety belts aftermarket only,
no homemade belts allowed.
Belt must come out through the seat and over the shoulder of the driver.
Belts must be 8 years old or newer.
Tires and Wheels
Goodyear eagle short track special (Wescar Tire)
No tire softeners, Used tires only! 5/32tread depth measured in the center
of the tire, no exceptions.
Maximum rim size of 8" with 2” Backset.
Right front aftermarket steel wheel is required. Right rear steel wheel
is recommended.
Brake cooling ducts allowed.
No aluminum rims allowed.
No Tire softening of any kind.
Tires will be randomly checked throughout race day and must meet minimum
tread depth all day.
No wheel spacers allowed.
Fuel cells
OEM gas tanks must be removed.
Racing fuel cell no more then 10 years old is mandatory.
A vent hose is to be extended to the bottom of the cell on the left-hand
side.
Fuel cell must be mounted to the frame in the trunk, no lower than the
bottom of the frame rails, minimum 18" ahead of bumper, must be
accessible using four hood pins on trunk lid. Trunk floor must
be gutted.
Fuel cells must be grounded.
Pump gas only, no racing fuel.
Exhaust
1. Must
have stock cast iron manifolds or (spec) header. Header part number.
11100 FLT or 11108 FLT only!
2. Exhaust system must extend
beyond and below driver. Maximum exhaust size is 2" OD. Ford and
Dodge allowed 2.5" exhaust.
3. H style cross over allowed
no x style cross over’s allowed.
4. All cars must have a form
of noise suppression: A 3-inch sleeve over the 2-inch is adequate. Or
any other kind of muffler with a maximum 95dB at 100 ft is OK.
Transmission and Clutch
Transmission coolers allowed for automatics. No transmission modifications
allowed.
Standard transmissions to be a minimum 10.4 pressure plate. Stock mechanical
or hydraulic linkage (must use a clutch fork) and must work in all
gears.
Converter or clutch and pressure plate must weigh 39 lbs. No aluminum
flywheels.
Aluminum bell housing must have home-made scatter shield made of minimum
3/16" steel or belting.
Aftermarket shifters ok.
Engine
Motors will be stock, no high performance
parts except for camshaft.
Engine must be in stock forward location without altering the frame,
with stock mounts.
Engine mounts must be in the stock location for the engine being run
(Example: no mounting in the big block or v-6 location).
Maximum 367 Cubic Inch Engine.
Hydraulic cams only with a maximum of .500" lift measured at the
valve, no hydraulic roller or solid cams.
Piston clearance to be a minimum .000 below deck. Cast 4 valve relief
pistons allowed, must be stock appearing with stock ring size and location.
No forged pistons.
No light weight wrist pins.
Cast iron intakes only. No bowtie or marine intakes.
Stock 2 barrel Rochester carburator (Any other carburator applications
ie Ford or Dodge refer to the BOD) make to make to apply.
1" adapter plate may be used, with gasket and spacer maximum height
of 1.5". No swirl polished or performance (racing) adapters.
Open chamber heads only, must be min 74cc head gasket, must be minimum
.039 thou compressed thickness.
Stock appearing and sized screw in rocker studs or pinning allowed.
Stock OEM heads only. No Bow Tie, Dart, etc heads allowed. No port-work
or grinding on cylinder heads. No die grinding, blending, or pocket porting
to remove any casting slag. Factory cut to straighten out casting maximum
.750" in intake post usually on one flank of port only. Exhaust
cuts is maximum .357" of flank as well. All heads should be as if
they have only a stock valve job!!
No fuel injected heads allowed.
No late model heads on early style blocks.
No stroking or de-stroking.
Engines must have stock firing order for make and model.
Stock production blocks only.
Stock appearing oval track claimer pans are allowed with no dry sump
systems or scrapers.
No high performance or aftermarket coils allowed including any spark
enhancers.
Aluminum aftermarket radiators allowed.
No electric fuel pumps.
