STREET STOCK RULES: 2016-2020
The rules set forth herein are designed to provide fair parameters for competition and a high level of safety. NO expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and regulations, they are intended as a guide for the conduct of sport and are no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. Driver/Car Owner is legally responsible for all crew signed in under car.
These Street Stock rules were originally designed to allow for a cheap and safe race car. Through the years it has become one of the fastest classes in the province. The main emphasis will be safety with some technical restrictions. DECISIONS OR INTERPRETATIONS OF THESE RULES BY TRACK OFFICIALS WILL BE THE FINAL RULING. If you feel these rules are too restrictive move up to the Sportsman class. The #1 rule is STOCK, STOCK AND STOCK!!
All new drivers to this class will start at the back of the line-up for their first 3 Main Events of the season. Any driver who has been out of the class for 10 or more years is to be considered a Rookie and will be subject to this rule.
a.) Any North American built, stock production car or pick-up truck. No Fox body Mustangs, no 4-wheel drive cars, no 4-wheel independent suspension, station wagons, convertibles or Corvettes. 1982 and newer Camaros or Firebirds not permitted. 1970-1981 Camaros and Firebirds allowed with stock front clip, uni-body and rear suspension.
b.) Minimum wheelbase 108 inches. Wheelbase must remain stock to the year and model with a maximum variation of one inch from the right side to the left side. The wheelbase must remain original to frame.
*** A 112″ frame may be shortened down to 108″ in the straight portion of the frame.
c.) Newer style body, skin only, may be used on older style chassis. You may swap a 1984 Monte Carlo body skin onto a 1969 Chevelle chassis or vice versa. Donor bodies to conform to minimum 108″ wheelbase rule. Fenders extend, not the frame. The installation must be done safely and neatly. Complete shell may be used. Body must be complete and remain neat in the stock location. Stock appearing steel aftermarket bodies only. Late model nose and tailpieces permitted. Front valance to be a minimum of 6-inches as measured from the track surface to conform to the 6-inch ride height rule. There will be no variance allowed. If damaged during racing the front valance must be returned to the specified 6-inch measurement.
d.) Inner bracing may be removed from stock hood and trunk panels. Lids must be securely fastened. Doors must be strapped or welded shut.
e.) Sharp objects must be removed. Fold over or duct tape any sharp or rough edges. Roll fender well edges under, not out.
f.) Cars must have bumpers and they must be strapped to the fenders and quarter panels to prevent hooking. Bumpers must be attached to the fenders or quarter panels within the body lines of the car; they may be modified for safety.
g.) Rear spoilers must have the corners rounded and be a maximum of 6 inches high from trunk lid.
h.) All glass must be removed.
i.) No push bumpers.
j.) No soft tops, station wagons or front wheel drives.
k.) A damaged car will only be permitted to race that day before being repaired. All cars must be maintained so as to present a neat appearance. Drivers name must be on one side of the car.
a.) The interior of the car must be stripped of all flammable material.
b.) The interior sheet metal may only be removed for ease of roll cage installation.
c.) No transmission coolers, transmission lines or rubber fuel lines in the drivers compartment.
d.) Holes in floor and firewall must be sealed with minimum 20-guage steel. No aluminum.
a.) A full windshield with two straps or tubes inside. The Earnhardt Bar or Strap is acceptable on the outside of the windshield.
b.) Outside, four strong tabs if glass windshield. If Lexan, mount with 3/16″ rivets, with a 6 inch spacing max.
c.) Sealed to cowl at least is mandatory.
a.) Weight will be a minimum 3200 lbs. including driver, coming off the track after main event. No Allowances for Fuel Loss.
b.) Left weight rule is 55% with driver belted in.
c.) 47% rear maximum.
d.) Lead ballast is allowed but must be securely fastened above the bottom of the frame. Ballast must be painted white and have the car number on it. Minimum two, 1/2 inch bolts.
FRAME AND SUSPENSIONS
a.) Minimum 6″ ground clearance to bottom of frame rail. Uni-Bodies measured at door sill, with a secondary reference point of 4″ at the bottom of the sub-frame where it mounts to the floor.
b.) No shortening of the frame horns allowed. If rusted or damaged they may be replaced but they must be the same length and location and of equal gauge metal or greater. No alterations to the K member.
c.) Uni-body must have sub frames tied together with minimum 2 inch x 3 inch, .120 inch steel tubing.
d.) No fabricated chassis.
a.) One race style Shock absorber per wheel that may have the mounting points relocated on all 4 shocks.
b.) No air adjustable or coil over shocks. No gas shocks. No Schrader valves.
c.) QA-1 Shocks allowed, Heim Joint Mounting style allowed as well.
3. FRONT SUSPENSIONS:
a.) Stock control arms and mounts, both upper and lower, must remain in stock location to year and model of frame. Rated springs may be used. Upper Control Arms may be of the tubular design, but must remain in stock location and have the part numbers listed below:

Camaro and Nova:
– LEFTHANDER 001-687 8-3/4″ RIGHT – NON-SLOTTED SHAFT
– LEFTHANDER 001-695 9-1/2″ LEFT – NON-SLOTTED SHAFT
b.) No jacking bolts allowed in the front. No tall joints.
c.) No altering of “A” arms.
d.) The upper control arm shaft called the Problem Solver is allowed to attain camber on G.M. cars.
e.) O.E.M. or jobber cloned parts only.
f.) Stock front steering components, i.e. idler arms, steering box, tie rods, drag link, etc.!!! Aftermarket Center link for Metric Cars allowed:
– AFCO #30271 IMPROVED GEOMETRY CENTERLINK – THIS IS THE ONLY PART# ALLOWED.
g.) All part numbers must remain intact. Alteration or removal of part numbers will make that part illegal and the car subject to disqualification.
4. REAR SUSPENSIONS:
a.) Jacking Bolts allowed in the Rear only.
b.) Stock upper trailing arms. Mounts may be re-drilled to allow for lengthening or shortening. All mounting is subject to Tech. approval.
c.) Only a secured full circle rubber spacer on top and/or secured full circle metal spacer(s) at the bottom of coil springs.
d.) Lowering blocks allowed on rear leaf springs.
e.) Sliders allowed on leaf springs but must be rear-mounted only.
a.) Ford 9″ rear end conversions are allowed, but the rear end must be centered in the stock frame. Control arm angles must be stock to chassis. Altering of the mounting bracket length and location not allowed on installed rear end. All mounting is subject to Technical approval.
b.) Locked rear ends allowed. No Detroit Lockers or Gold Trac. No clutch or ratchet driven carriers.
c.) Drive shafts must have at least one U-shaped retaining bracket installed near the front of the drive shaft.
d.) Drive shafts must be painted white.
e.) Any O.E.M. manual or automatic transmission is allowed but all gears must work.
f.) Automatic transmissions must have a working torque converter that weighs 39lbs with flex plate full of oil.
g.) Cars with manual transmissions must have a 360-degree scatter shield that is racing approved and a clutch and fly wheel assembly that weighs 39lbs minimum with all bolts.
WHEELS, TIRES AND BRAKES
a.) All cars will run the American Racer P265 street stock tire, but will be allowed to run out their remaining Hoosier tires for the 2016 season. 4 brand new tires will be allowed to start the season and must be stamped by the Tech. Official at the track. After the first race day each car will be permitted 1 new tire only, per race day, and it must be stamped at the track by Officials.
b.) Wheels up to a maximum 8-inch rim width will be permitted. Maximum 2″ backspace for offset.
c.) Wheel weights must be stick on type installed on the inside of the rim with tape over them. No pound on weights allowed.
d.) The tire and wheel shall not be exposed more than 2 inches from the outside of the body as measured from the tire sidewall to the body. No flaring allowed.
e.) Cars must have four stock wheel brakes in good working order.
f.) Brake pedal assembly may be altered but must retain the stock master cylinder, location and pedal. No aftermarket brake pedals. Brake bias valve allowed; and must not be mounted within reach of the driver. Racing pad are allowed.
g.) No cable throttle linkage. Solid rod linkage only and aftermarket peddle with toe hook release.
h.) No rear discs.
i.) No bleeders.
a.) Small block engines only. Maximum overbore is 0.60″.
b.) G.M. 350 max. CID (364 cu in.)
c.) Chrysler 360 max. CID (364 cu in.)
d.) Ford 351 max. CID (364 cu in.)
e.) The engine must be stock two-barrel specs. No Vortec.
f.) Cars must have a working starter.
g.) The engine must be in the stock forward location without altering the frame and in the stock location. May be solid mounted.
h.) Flat top pistons only, with 2 valve reliefs. Piston clearance 0.000″ deck height.
i.) No fuel injection. No big blocks. No Chrysler 340 cid. No G.M. 400 cid.
j.) No stroking allowed by matching crankshaft from one engine size to another, i.e. do not put a 350 Chev. Crank in a 400 block or vice versa.
k.) Any flat tappet, hydraulic or solid camshaft allowed as long as the 1.5 rocker ratio remains. No mushroom or roller cams.
STREET STOCK CRATE MOTOR RULES
The G.M. 602 part# 88958602 steel headed crate motor is the only crate motor allowed.
– The following components must be used on the crate motor:
– Holley 01-80541-1 650 cfm crate motor carburetor.
– Restrictor plate must be run. Plate must be purchased from Alien Race Cars. Promoter may at any time swap plates among competitors or simply replace competitors’ plate with another of the same size.
– Schoenfeld 185 headers. One tube on the right side can be altered to clear upper A arm.
– G.M. part# 14088765 counter balanced flex plate.
– MSD 8278 sealed rev limiter with 5500 RPM chip and sold by Finish Line Racing Products.
– Distributor that comes with motor must be used or stock appearing replacement. NO racing distributors, super coils, racing modules or computerized ignition allowed. Modules without factory branding or factory decals will be deemed illegal. Vacuum advance may be disabled or removed.
– Must use stock GM Performance crate motor valve springs part# 10212811. This is the only part of this motor that can be changed.
– 3 inch dual exhaust pipes. Each side must be separate with NO “X” or “H” pipes. Any muffler may be used but must be 3 inch in and 3 inch out. 95db at tower and pits.
– Crate motor or induction system cannot be altered in any way. Seals cannot be broken. If the motor is tampered with in anyway, the driver will be suspended.
a.) A Rochester 2 barrel Carburetor for all manufacturers on a stock cast iron 2 barrel intake manifold. Removal of the choke assembly is allowed. The choke horn stays.
a.) Absolutely no modifications to engine heads, such as porting, polishing, port matching; roller rockers or angle milling.
b.) Maximum 1.94 inch intake, 1.50 inch exhaust.
c.) Chrysler 318 two-barrel heads allowed. Ford 289 and 302 two-barrel heads allowed. GM 305 heads allowed.
d.) GM Camel Bump heads allowed.
e.) 3/8″ screw in studs allowed.
f.) Cars running prior to 2016 with World Product Heads will be allowed to run their heads out until they re-build their engines. No World Product Heads to be used after this point. Tech man to supply part numbers.
a.) Stock cast iron manifolds or the Spec Header listed below:
– SCH-185 72-87 MALIBU/MONTE/GP/CUTLASS/REGAL/70-81 CAMARO
– SCH-185M SAME AS 185, BUT FITS STOCK MANUAL CLUTCH LINKAGE
– “ONE TUBE ON RIGHT SIDE MAY BE ALTERED TO CLEAR UPPER A-ARM”
– SCH-115 67-69 CAMARO/68-74 CHEVY 2-NOVA
– SCH-165 70-81 CAMARO/75-79 NOVA/64-77 CHEVELLE/72-77 MONTE
b.) No alterations to manifolds allowed.
c.) No 2.5 inch Corvette center dumps. 2 inch is okay.
d.) Must have a muffler(s), maximum 95db at tower and in the pits.
e.) Must extend past the driver near the rear tires.
f.) The pipes may pass through the drivers compartment as long as they are shielded from the driver. The passenger floorboard may be altered or partially removed for clearance but must be replaced with a minimum 20 gauge sheet metal.
a.) Coolers must be ahead of the front firewall or behind the rear firewall.
b.) Radiator must be in front of engine and must have minimum 4 liter catch can.
c.) Cars must have a working 2- 1/2 lb. fire extinguisher within easy reach of the driver.
a.) Battery kill switch is mandatory. Must be identified and within easy reach of the Safety Personnel.
b.) Battery must be securely mounted and sealed in a metal box with a lid. Locate outside of fuel compartment.
3. ROLL CAGE
a.) Roll cage required, minimum 8 points to chassis. Recommend it to be 1-3/4 inch x .095 inch steel tubing. All main joints must be gusseted. ***Minimum 1-1/2″ piping is allowed as long as it has at least 0.125″ wall thickness.
b.) There must be a minimum of four door tubes on the drivers’ side parallel to the ground.
c.) At least four passenger door tubes are required.
d.) Main hoop must be cross-braced. Front uprights must have dash bar.
e.) Two cage tubes will be placed from the upper rear corners of the main hoop at the top of the cage, rearwards, to the frame members behind the fuel cell.
f.) One bar may be installed for radiator protection but must not protrude past the bumper.
g.) Cages will have an ankle bar on the left and a bay bar system which links roll cage from right front frame rail to left rear shock tower.
h.) Roll cage members adjacent to the driver must be padded.
i.) Head clearance must be minimum 2 inches. More is better.
j.) Mandatory anti-intrusion plates on driver’s door bars, minimum 1/8-inch steel plate.
k.) All cages subject to tech approval.
4. SEAT,BELTS AND WINDOW NET:
a.) Cars must have a safety approved aluminum bucket seat mounted securely to the roll cage with a minimum of four 5/16″ bolts, subject to Tech approval.
b.) Full containment seats will have headrests supported by cage.
c.) Cars must have an approved harness mounted to the roll cage.
d.) Shoulder belts must be fastened at approximately 1″ below shoulder height.
e.) Belt certification and Window Net is 8 years maximum.
f.) Drivers window must have an approved safety net with a quick release catch at the top. Mount with minimum 3/8 inch diameter unthreaded steel rod, top and bottom.
g.) A Racing Helmet with a minimum of a Schnell 2010 Rating along with some form of neck protection must be worn. ***No Open Faced Helmets.
h.) A Flame Resistant Driving Suit and Gloves must be worn by all drivers. ***No Coveralls!
5. FUEL CELL:
a.) Fuel cells are mandatory. Cells must be equipped with foam.
b.) Fuel cells must be mounted between the frame rails and as far forward as possible and practical. Fuel cell must be in a metal case and have a minimum 8-inch ground clearance.
c.) If tank hangs below frame, a Nerf bar must protect it.
d.) The overflow must extend below the fuel cell.
e.) No electric fuel pumps. No alcohol racing fuel.
f.) A ground strap from the filler neck flange to the frame is mandatory.
